All Farmers Association of Nigeria (AFAN) has condemned the act of forcibly ripening fruits and other farm produce using harmful chemicals such as carbide because it is harmful to health.

Nigeria Export Promotion Council (NEPC) says it is working with the Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba Akoko, (AAUA) in Ondo State on measures to improve production and distribution of cocoa seedlings to farmers, as well cocoa processing for quality exports.

As the 2018 farming period sets in, farmers have been advised to adhere strictly to best agronomic practices for bumper harvests.
